Privacy Policy
This policy describes how TapeCam 8mm (“the App”) handles information when you use our Android and iOS applications.
Overview
TapeCam 8mm is developed by SSH Studio. The App lets you record and edit photos and videos with VHS-style filters on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not operate a server that stores your photos or videos.
Information stored on your device
The App may store the following locally on your phone or tablet:
- Photos and videos you capture, import, or export
- App settings and preferences (for example, filter options and recording settings)
- Premium purchase status, as reported by the app store on your device
This content stays on your device unless you choose to share it through another app (for example, using the system share sheet).
Device permissions
The App may request access to:
- Camera — to capture photos and videos
- Microphone — to record audio with videos when audio recording is enabled
- Photos / media library — to import media, save exports, and show your gallery
- Internet — to load ads, check for app updates, and use analytics and crash reporting
You can change these permissions in your device settings. Some App features will not work without the relevant permission.
Information collected by third-party services
The App uses third-party services that may collect information according to their own privacy policies. These services may receive technical data such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, crash logs, and advertising identifiers.
Google Firebase
- Analytics — helps us understand how the App is used
- Crashlytics — helps us diagnose crashes and stability issues
- Remote Config — lets us adjust App behavior remotely (for example, ad settings)

Google AdMob
If you have not purchased Premium, the App may show banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use advertising identifiers and related data to serve and measure ads.

App store billing
Premium purchases and subscription restoration are processed by Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). We do not receive your payment card details. The store may provide us with purchase status so we can unlock Premium features.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information
- We do not upload your photos or videos to our own servers
- We do not require registration or a user account to use the App
Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Your choices
- Upgrade to Premium to remove in-app ads
- Reset advertising identifiers or limit ad tracking in your device settings
- Revoke camera, microphone, or media permissions in your device settings
- Uninstall the App to remove locally stored App data from your device
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
